They're English words, with each letter drawn as a picture. Every puzzle has its own code, so a cat isn't always an A: count the pictures, look for repeats, and match the shapes where words cross.

On your device, in the game's own storage. There are no accounts, so it isn't kept anywhere else: uninstalling the game removes it.
